Diet modulates brain network stability, a biomarker for brain aging, in young adults
To better understand how diet influences brain aging, this paper focuses on the presymptomatic period during which prevention may be most effective. Findings show brain network destabilization may reflect early signs of hypometabolism, associated with dementia. Dietary interventions resulting in ketone utilization increase available energy and thus may show potential in protecting the aging brain.
Insulin Resistance and Medial Prefrontal Gyrus Metabolism in Women Receiving Hormone Therapy
This study focused on metabolic changes in the medial prefrontal region, which shows decline years before documented cognitive changes, relative to high or low insulin-resistance status in postmenopausal women at risk for dementia who were randomized to continue or discontinue existing stable hormone therapy for 2 years.
